We’re thrilled to kick off our new Erasmus+ KA220 project: DIGITAL RURALSHIP, a European partnership focused on empowering rural youth through digital tools, creativity and participation. The project brings together six amazing organisations from across Europe: AMICS (Spain), TIA (Hungary), Baltic Regional Fund (Latvia), Akweduct (Poland), Hyvärilä Youth Centre (Finland), and Vedogiovane (Italy). Over the next 30 months, we’ll work together to explore how digital participation, virtual environments and youth work can better support young people from rural areas and reduce the digital divide they often face.

What is the project about?
DIGITAL RURALSHIP aims to improve the quality of youth work in rural areas by developing innovative methodologies and digital tools. We will co-create a virtual participation space in the Metaverse, design VR-based games and activities, and deliver a structured training course for youth workers via the SALTO HOP platform. Alongside this, we will conduct research on the digital realities of rural youth, explore the characteristics of Generation Z in these regions, and collect recommendations to shape youth policies that are more inclusive and future-ready.
What will be the main results?
Some of the most exciting outcomes of the project will include: a youth-friendly virtual world full of educational and interactive content, a free online course for youth workers on digital youth work in rural areas, and a policy roadmapbased on real-life research. We’ll also organise two international virtual youth exchanges, a Toolfair-style mobility to test our digital tools, and a strong dissemination strategy to make all materials and results widely available. Stay tuned – we can’t wait to share our journey and outcomes with you!
